Blackmagic Design Desktop Video is the driver and control software suite from Blackmagic Design that enables the company’s capture and playback hardware—such as DeckLink, UltraStudio, Intensity, and Mini Monitor/Recorder devices—to work seamlessly with creative applications. It installs the required system drivers and firmware updates, and includes the Desktop Video Setup utility for configuring video standards, input and output routing, audio channels, reference/genlock, timecode, and device‑specific options like HDR signaling or LUT support where available.
The package also installs companion tools such as Media Express for capture/playback and logging, Disk Speed Test (macOS) for storage benchmarking, and LiveKey for SDI keying on supported hardware, along with plug-ins for popular NLE, VFX, broadcast, and streaming applications. With cross-platform support for macOS, Windows, and Linux, Desktop Video underpins editorial, color, ingest, and live workflows, supporting SD, HD, 4K, and 8K formats, YUV and RGB up to 12‑bit, multi‑channel embedded audio, 3D, and ancillary data.
